Art
April in the Art room is always special. It’s a time where we focus on art projects using recycled materials.
The first project we made involved many different elements. For our canvas, we used old Glossary pages from an old, ancient Atlas. We began by creating a sky with handmade stamps made by Alumni using foam board and wooden blocks. The students then made a first of tree trunks using strips of brown butcher paper. Foliage was then added using tempera paint, using a dabbing motion with their brushes. Multimedia at its finest.
Hey! Speaking of dabbing motions...the kids previously made portraits of bears and practiced adding texture, for fur, with paint. These were outlined with oil pastels.
