Español

In Spanish we have mostly been spending time outside since it has been so beautiful. We practiced actions with a 4 Corners game - Cuatro Esquinas: run - corre, jump - brinca, swim- nada, dance - baila, spin - gira, crawl - gatea. To change spots I said, “uno, dos, tres, cambia” and Are you ready - Están listos?

We also read the book Has Visto a mi Patito? - Have you seen my duckling? They really loved this one and we repeated the words and created more vocabulary that could have gone in the book and used words to describe and name other animals not mentioned. Then we played a version of Red Light, Green Light, using vocabulary from the book.

This past Friday, I had a color handout for each student with bright flowers to count on it. There was a lot going on during this activity, but they were really excited about it. There turned out to be a pattern to filling in the blanks which some of them really picked up on. The Spanish included counting, colors, flowers - flores etc. Some of them might have brought the paper home.

Sorry I don’t have any photos to share. I’ll work on that for next time ;)
