Humanities

The students continue reading and spelling study. Spelling focus has been both on high frequency words and closed syllables (one short sounding vowel and ends in a consonant). We look for these syllables in bigger multi-syllable words and compound words. This class looks forward to creative writing and sharing their creations. This month, the students have written a Halloween short story, a spooky monster description, and their vision of a perfect rainy day.  The students all have a book they are reading independently and have started a book log recording their reading and literature responses.
