Art/Leadership/HolIday gift making

Happy New Year, everyone! The last two months of 2022 were busy creating art for many holidays and traditions (Dia Del los Muertos, Native American Heritage month, Stone Soup), as well as honoring the change of the seasons (sleeping foxes in an autumn forest as well as a winter wonderland portrait of a hare with a cozy scarf) all while being flexible in switching classrooms and schedules to make way for our winter production of the Wizard of Oz. Currently our elective class together is a Holiday Gift making class where the students enjoyed creating thoughtful gifts for family members. In leadership class lots of gratitude practices were highlighted through art and song. I taught the students a song by Copperwoman called “I give thanks”. The students beautifully sang the song blessing our meal at our stone soup celebration. As busy as we were, we had fantastic classes together wherever on campus we landed. I hope everyone has had a wonderful winter break! See you all really soon.
