Music

We have begun a wonderful journey around the world in song and dance with our voices, melodic and percussion instruments. We also explore melodic and rhythmic objectives in our songs as well as learning music vocabulary in the process. We are learning (do, re, mi,) in the dance game, “Sailor, Sailor” by also using the Curwen hand symbols. In the chant, “Engine, Engine #9” and Naughty Tabby Cat, (Hungarian folk song)  we use our syllables for our rhythmic stick notations pronounced  ta, ti ti, tiri tiri, tiri ti and rest. Our music vocabulary includes dynamics, (ie. piano=soft, forte=loud), beat, rhythm, pitch, melody to mention a few.
