It’s so great to meet all these new kindergartners! We meet for Art class every Friday and although we are just getting started, it’s been a joy to share the art space with them.

So far they have been introduced to their art folders, having a chance to personalize them, watercolors and the first fundamental: Line. We took turns sharing different types of lines: short, long, diagonal, zig zag, curvy and lines with special names like: rainbow line, sleeping line, standing line, cup holder line, to name a few.

The kinders started their first art project by decorating an outline of a leaf by adding different lines in each section of leaf. They did a great job. Next, they will have a chance to add on to their free form watercolor masterpieces by experimenting with sharpies and more line additions.

Their artwork will live in their art folders, as well as their creations made during free choice time. Artwork will be sent home about once a month.
