Hello everyone,

One last blog for the year. The K/1 class has been playing a few games before we go in to the classroom. Rosy posted some photos of our "Paracaída" - parachute games that the kids loved. We also sometimes play "A la Víbora..." to review the song, and have fun! We have played "Simon Dice" - Simon Says, where they hear a lot of verbs and practice parts of the body. Another game is a song called "Pares y Nones" - Evens and Odds. You can look that up and hear the song and see how they play on Youtube. I changed the words a bit so no one is ever left out "el que quede solo, nunca estará" - the one who is left out, never will be. Another action/song is "Lento, Lento, Lento" (slow, slow, slow). I think I found that one on Spanishplayground.net. It involves moving slowly then quickly and using action words.

Inside we have listened to a book/song about the animals in the jungle, "Cha, Cha, Cha en la Selva" and done some art activities. To follow up with jungle animals we also had a paper with many animals and their names in Spanish. Then the kids cut them out and made a scene on another paper. They also wrote, "Doy gracias por" I am thankful for... (the animals that they put on their paper).

Please let me know if you would like all of the words to any of these activities/songs. Also, I have heard that Babbel.com is a good website to practice/learn a language too. There are many websites with fun Spanish games and songs to practice and learn at home. :)

Have a fabulous break with family and friends.
