The fifth-sixth grade students dove into their US history unit with an exploration of the Constitution, specifically the Preamble, since it was Constitution/Citizenship Day on September 17th. While the students are continuing to explore the Constitution, they are also learning the physical and political geography of the United States.

The class wrote a personal letter to their future self to be opened at the end of the school year. The directions were to include goals they have for the year. Subsequent writing has been expository, with a tall tale assignment about to begin. Reading in class so far has been US history related, but the students are picking out books from the school library for fictional reading.
