 Hatchet: The Games

We have recently completed our literature study of Hatchet by Gary Paulsen. We spent months reading, writing, and analyzing the Newbery-winning young adult novel. Now, the students are creating a "book report" in the form of individual board games.

The board game is a book report that reflects each student's understanding and analysis of the story. The students have listed the criteria for the board game in their journals:

1.  The board must relate to the setting

2. The pieces must relate to the characters

3. Question Cards must relate to the plot

4. Title and author must be on your board

5. Game instructions must be written and included with your game

The students are having a great time bringing their learning to life by designing their own Hatchet board games. It’s really a pleasure to support their understanding and unique understanding of their Hatchet-based board game.

Let the games begin!
