Science - fish release!

After just about 40 days, the trout we have been raising from eggs were big enough to be released as fry into Loch Lomond. Despite the earlier torrential rains and spring break weekend, quite a few families were able to make it up to the mountains to see our little fish off.

Rangers Angie and Brian gave us a brief history of Loch Lomond. 

We walked about 5 minutes down the trail to the release site. 

We had to slowly add lake water to the trout since we had been raising them at 52 degrees and Loch Lomond was at 62.3 degrees.

A few times we had to pour a little water out. Ezra is there to catch any potential escapees (there were none).
