Español - Marzo
February: We have continued to practice the conversations through games and with partners. This past Friday we finally videoed the kids speaking Spanish. I haven’t had as much time recently with this class, but they did a good job! Here is an unlisted link to youtube so you can watch them:

March 16th: I wasn’t with this group last week because of the circus, so we did the same thing as the other classes: On March 2nd I was in Tecate, Mexico with a group of women building a house in one day for a single mother and her daughters (all single moms). We also donated food and other items to two communities nearby. I showed the students my photos of building the house, the surrounding areas, a very poor neighborhood, and kids playing happily near what is a sprawled out trash collecting area (their front yard basically). We talked a bit about different countries, areas within any country really, and the kids had some great comments and observations.
March 23rd: We started today with family vocabulary and adjectives as well. We also discussed the difference between Spanish and English, masculine and feminine, and placement of adjectives. They are starting a book that we will continue for a while. Next week I will be bringing in vocabulary about things around the home to add.
