Drama

The last couple weeks of November (both Tuesdays and Wednesdays) were all about prepping and rehearsing for the winter play. The K-2 grades will be performing Nursery Rhymes (both original and fractured), and the 3-6 graders will do ‘The Sign of the Seahorse’, and book/play written by Graeme Base. Each student had 1st, 2nd, and 3rd choices for their desired roles in the play. Most all students got one of their top choices. We are now working on entrances/exits, characterizations, stage presence and awareness, projection; all the basic drama concepts. This play has many narrators, which is attractive to some students because they don’t necessarily like to act, but love to recite lines.
