We were very busy working on our Halloween songs for the festivities. After some exploration, the students chose to develop “Ghost of John.” We learned that it can be a 4 part round and so we practiced that! We also discussed the difference between a major and minor scale and the emotions each produce. “Ghost” is in minor and has an eerie sound. Students chose to choreograph the 4 lines of the text; each line had 4 or 5 students in the group. Finally, we put our elements together for the performance. We sang the song first in unison, then in a 4 part round and third, in unison with each line being danced at its turn. It was an enjoyable and successful group effort.
