Art
This past month we were a little short on art classes due to holidays that fall on Mondays and a power outage.
For Valentine’s Day the kids made bursting hearts with oil pastels and watercolor paint.
Hints of spring time are here! On cool colored watercolor paper, the 3rd graders created abstract images of plum blossom branches blooming with the first blossoms of the season. These creations were made with Sumi-e ink blown through straws. Once dried they were mounted on construction paper, making lovely book marks or seasonal art for your refrigerator.
Elaborate, exotic birds with multimedia feathers created with lots of different types of paper. These came out wonderfully!!
Free drawing is an activity to do once their projects are complete. This station is popular with all the kids at school.
