Art

November seemed like a short month in the art room, having a day off for Veterans day. We had one less day of Art this past month, but I think we made the best of our time together.

Monochromatics!! Of one color!! We finally discussed and explored tint/shade and value. The kids created beautiful landscapes of rolling hillsides and mountains. They started at the top of their canvas with a light/white sky. Afterwards, each layer of mountains  was created by adding color to the tint(white) making it darker and darker that shade(black) is eventually blended in the final, and closest mountain side is the darkest. I didn’t get a chance to take pictures, but here is one of my example I used in class, just to have a visual. It’s from my sketchbook, made with chalk and ink. The painting the kids made cake out way better.

Yesterday we had Art class in the Tile room. It’s that “winter performance” time of year when I switch classrooms with Rock (where he teaches gardening when they’re not in the garden) ❤️❤️.

I can’t say much about what we did as it’s a potential holiday surprise.  I can tell you is that the creations are coming out beautifully.
