Well, hello March…you came around quickly! January and February were packed with meaningful art projects, holiday art and learning new concepts, such as pointillism and stippling, thr differences and similarities.
Chinese New Year (Tiger Art, Chinese temple), Black History month (Jean Michel Basquiat, Alma Thomas and a class collaborative peace sign), Valentine’s Day (Love and hearts, oil pastel and liquid watercolor art) and a bit of Pre-Spring Art (plum and cherry blossom art) were amongst the projects completed the past two months. The students love step by step tutorials and have been taking turns leading the class themselves with their own ideas to share. It’s a great lesson in giving and receiving directions. They all support each other and come up with great lessons. Art teachers in the making!
