October was packed! We had a great time preparing for two of our biggest events we have in the school year, our harvest festival and Halloween party. To prepare for the harvest festival, the second graders collected flowers and herbs to create the bouquets used to add beauty to the bounties we feasted on. They also collected all the flora needed for Floral crowns for the queen and king and his throne. For the Halloween party this class worked hard and in harmony in rehearsing their skit, POPCORN.

The students enjoyed a review on color. Warm colors, cool colors, the color wheel, primary and secondary. Beautiful pumpkin art, made with oil pastels, was a good lesson on warm and cool, blending colors, finding the light source.

Sewing class continued to be amazing as they really love creating with textiles. Our last class for this elective ended on Friday and was enjoyed with a free choice project. They make the cutest stuff!

Last highlight I want to share is our Dia de Los Muertos lesson. We read books on the subject helped set up the school Ofrenda, listened to music from Coco and made a watercolor picture of their own colorful and bedazzled Calavera.
