The second grade class has been very engaged in the activities this month. It feels like many of them are realizing that they can recall more than they think, which of course feels great!
We have played a ‘Go Fish’ type game using vocabulary that relates to rooms in a house and items you would find in those rooms. We have also focused on pronunciation and breaking some Spring time related words down by syllables. They have the syllables cut out, and match them up to make the words. One Friday they really needed some outside time, so we used the jump ropes and learned a jumping chant. They really had fun with this!
This past Friday we didn’t do Spanish because that is when they practiced the May Pole, but we will continue with both activities for the next couple of weeks. For the summer, remember that there are many wonderful websites and ideas online for the kids to keep learning and practicing Spanish. Enjoy!
