Much of the spring plantings have succumbed to fall moisture and coolness.  We continue to cabbage, chiles, kale, peppers, tomatoes, squash, and now persimmons for use in the kitchen for snacks and lunches. We harvested veggies for ornaments and cooked dishes for our annual Thanksgiving rendition of Stone Soup. We have harvested corn and cornstalks. Lots to see and learn. Corn borer caterpillars got fed to the chickens. Corn husks and leaves were used to make corn dolls. The corn ears and stalks were used as table ornaments and decorations.
