Art
Welcome back to school! It's so great to be back with the kids in the art room.
We took our time reviewing the guidelines, privileges and boundries of the classroom as well as shared stories of our summer breaks. We had time to do a quick project which was drawing 4 things: plant life, your house, an animal, your favorite place. We will do this practice at the end of the school year to see how much the kids have grown.
Last week the kids constructed their very own ART journals using different types of paper, including graph, lined and construction paper. They decorated the covers with their own design or with images of "what inspired them". These journals will be used through out the school year for free drawing.
We began our discussion reviewing the importance of lines and shapes and combined the two to create patterns. Next week we will look at artwork (and create artwork!) that support the lessons of this month.
I'm very happy to share art space with the kids!
