Well, hello March…you came around quickly! January and February were packed with meaningful art projects, holiday art and learning new techniques (stippling, vanishing point, one point perspective) as well as implementing old ones.
Chinese New Year (sumi-e and ink wash painting), Black History month (Alma Thomas), Valentine’s Day (Love and hearts, oil pastel and liquid watercolor art) and a bit of Pre-Spring Art (plum and cherry blossom art) were in full display the past two months.

The one thing I would like to highlight on this post is the Doodle for Google contest the students entered recently. this is a yearly contest Google holds for students across the nation, Kindergarten- Senior year in high school! This years theme was “I care for myself by…” which allowed the students to reflect on their own self care and how they help make themselves feel better. I just sent off thE entries so we’ll see what happens! The students worked very hard and put a lot of intention in their entry forms, I wish them all the best of luck.
