Music

The 5th and 6th Graders have been working hard getting ready for our Halloween performance on October 27th!  All of the students have chosen Orff instruments to work on.  We have been learning the song "Knock, Knock," a spooky Halloween tune. Children have chosen either to learn the melody or an accompaniment part on the Orff instruments.  They are learning to hold their own parts steady while the other half of the ensemble plays the other part.  The 5th and 6th graders have been working at not speeding up the tempo, a challenging feat at times!  As they progress together as an ensemble, their tempos will continue to gel.

This group is very adept at moving and they learned Michael Jackson's "Thriller" choreography with relative ease.  They were so confident with the choreography that I then sent them to task of getting into small groups and creating short choreographies of their own.  The students came up with some great (and sometimes humorous!) choreographies.  They will be presented at Friday evening's Halloween event.
