Art/Leadership
Since my last post, we made art for Halloween, Dia Del Los Muertos, started lessons and created beautiful art on color. Color categories include: primary, secondary, rainbow, complementary, cool/ warm colors. We even squeezed in some holiday art!
In Leadership class, we learned more about Dia Del Los Muertos customs, ways the holiday is celebrated and traditions. Our daily gratitude practice involves a thought provoking quote said or written by an influential person, followed by a journal entry prompt. We reflect on the many reasons to be grateful and how we can be the best versions of ourselves. We have had class discussions on inspiration, how it feels to be inspired and how we can be the source of inspiration for others Another topic that engaged the class was talking about giving, how it’s not a burden but a blessing. What can we give in kindness that doesn’t cost anything?
I’m excited for 2026. We will come together in the art room and work on vision boards, make a class gratitude jar, highlight peace and MLK day. In art class, we will start talking about value and shape.
