Third and Fourth graders have been experimenting with light waves and color. Using prisms, the students were able to bend white light and disperse it into all the colors of the visible spectrum (make rainbows!). They then created color wheels and spun them fast enough to blend the colors and see white.

Students built and used spectroscopes to compare different types of light (sun, lamp, computer, flashlight, etc.) and the color waves they are made up of.

The class experimented with blowing bubbles and using them to create rainbows. The students then used a variety of random materials for the bubble wand engineering challenge.
