Math
Hi everyone, I hope you are well.
3rd graders are mainly focused on a multiplication menu. In addition, they have the weekly challenges and the time of sunrise and sunset for last Tuesday. I would like them to work consistently on the menu and check in with me for any questions. I am happy to meet one on one, or help during my Thursday office hours. To download materials click here. I also sent home their math activity books and a copy of the challenges for this week. Watch Jack Johnson's song on the 3 Rs which combines ecological awareness with some x 3 facts here.
2nd graders, we had a hardcore zoom meeting in which you all attended and participated, hurray! We measured our wheat grass or planted it in some cases, or are waiting for it to sprout. The main theme was doubles. I read a story called the 512 ants on Sullivan Street and students wrote down the numbers they heard and then discovered the doubling pattern. Included in their packet is a game called doubles or nothing, which I explained to them. We went through the packet and I am hoping for them to create a set of pentominoes this week. Please have them color them and store them in the envelope I provided. We then, did a series of grueling exercises 19 times each, Max suggested burpees! I think parents had some fun watching me labor. To download materials sent home this week, click here.
