Music

Third graders are practicing the rhythms ta, titi, tiri tiri, and rest in different songs.  We have played our own compositions, notated them using the heart chart, and performed the compositions using rhythm sticks & tambourines.  Students are learning the pentatonic scale, and practice la, sol, mi, re, & do, using use our hand symbols and solfege.  We have enjoyed singing Circle Round the Zero and will incorporate harmony when we learn Ghost of John in a round.  We have also enjoyed playing instruments in centers of drums, xylophones and shakers, using ostinatos to add harmony and depth.
