Spanish (por fin - finally ;)
Hola Padres,
It has been fun to be with your kids again. This year I really want them to learn vocabulary and sentences that they can use and 'see' around the school, so that they keep Spanish in mind!
The third and fourth graders have been working on garden vocabulary. Three Fridays ago, we went into the garden and wrote down words we wanted to learn in Spanish in order to label the plants and items in the garden. Then, last Friday, I gave them a page with those words in English and Spanish, and they started to create bingo cards in order to learn and practice the vocabulary. We didn't finish, so yesterday we finally got to play Bingo. Next Friday we will make labels to laminate and place in the garden for all to be able to learn the vocabulary.
A few of the sentences we are also practicing with the words are:
En el jardîn tenemos..... In the garden we have..... / Mi favorito es....My favorite is...../ Me gusta comer.......I like to eat...
This group is always positive about Spanish and I have to say their pronunciation is excellent :)
If you want to incorporate more Spanish at home, spanishplayground.net has great ideas.
