circus/drama/garden

While we are on hiatus from school, here are a couple of ideas for students to undertake as an extension or continuance of what has been happening in our classes.

String Figures

If you know 3 string figures, put them together in a sequence, 1-2-3. Make up a story to fit the sequence of the string figures. A good story has a beginning, a middle, and an end. You can make the character(s) be people, animals, or maybe even imaginary beings.

If you know 10 or 20 string figures, make a longer story.

Be sure to practice a few times before you perform the story for your teddy bear or family.

Juggling Balls

Whether you are working on 1, 2, or 3 juggling balls, get them out and throw them in the air. Remember the focus point is in front of you, just above your head, about as high as you can reach. Give this about 10 minutes once or twice a day. The only way you get better is by doing. Many of you have made great progress in the past couple of months in circus class. Keep it going.

Garden

Get into your garden at home. Spring is here, and the weeds are growing. Pull out some weeds, and plant a seed. Good vegetable seeds to plant now are kale, broccoli, cabbage, lettuce, beets, radishes.
