Leadership
We had a wonderful 8 weeks together in Leadership. We built forts, made art, practiced expressing gratitude, enjoyed yoga, dabbled in centering and journeyed to Roxaboxen as often as the rain permitted.
Roxaboxen is a magical place where anything is possible. It inspired me to write journal entries upon each visit, from the point of view of a visitor from a faraway land. I thought I would share these for your enjoyment.
11/30/2018 Today i crossed paths with other travelers who were on their way to their home in a magical place called Roxaboxen. They invited me to come along. We traveled together a long way. We went around a beautiful garden, passed a persimmon tree (where we stopped for a quick harvest), through the Willows (a giant forest) and arrived at the gate that led to Roxaboxen. Once we arrived I was given a name “New Comer”. They offered me an apple, and a place to sit to rest. Once I was settled they went off to busy themselves with tidying up and prepping for the day. I like it here.
12/7/2018 I went back to Roxaboxen today. This time I brought with me a spool of red string to offer anyone in need in exchange for a place to rest. Today is sunny, but terribly wet from lots of rain. The townspeople are busy organizing and cleaning their homes and horse stalls. There is a new Mayor in town. Jacen and Bear decide to share duties and Lyra, the last mayor is kindly passing along some mayor advice. They are appreciative of the string and it is used to make necklaces, tools (a bow), string art and to adorn their horses (long sticks).
1/25/2019 Today a plot of land was given to me. I decided to create a fire pit, a place to share stories and snacks with my new neighbors. My neighbors love to clean their areas as it has been a stormy winter.
2/1/2019 Today was our last adventure in Roxaboxen, until we meet again in 8 weeks. We sat around the fire pit and shared animal crackers. Lyra was our fire starter and Zola stashed her animal crackers to later feed them to her horses. Finn found a stick that resembled a hammer and Mickey started a number scroll with Emma. Jude kept busy gathering treasures and washed gems in a bowl filled with rain water.
