Science

It has been an exciting first month of school and I am enjoying getting to know this amazing group of students! In September, the first and second grade class engaged in a variety of activities that helped them become familiar with the science classroom, and practice working with each other in small lab groups. Students are also learning about the variety of science tools available to take measurements and are practicing recording data.

Examples of a few of the pages in the students’ science journals so far.

“How many chain links does it take to get our Harvest Festival decoration from one end of the table to the other?” Student lab teams practiced making a hypothesis (guess) and then worked together to see how close they were.
