Spanish

Over the past few weeks we have been very busy. We have played 'pato, pato, ganso' (duck, duck, goose) with the vocabulary from a poem they practiced called 'soy un arbol' (I am a tree). Then they created a tree out of torn paper.

On the Friday before Halloween,  I brought Pan de Muerto, and we looked at a Dia de los Muertos book. We then joined the second graders to eat the bread.

Last Friday we warmed up with color and action games outside. Then in class we learned a traditional song/rhyme that we will sing again next Friday while using the parachute. "Que llueva, que llueva. (a child's name) esta en la cueva. Que si, que no. Que caiga ell chaparron" (Let it rain, let it rain. (name) is in the cave. Yes, No. Let the downpour come).

After that, I had a book with CD and song about animals in a farm. They seemed to really enjoy it. They then drew pictures of animals that they chose. Before i left, I gave Rock an activity continue in Spanish from Brown Bear (reinforcement).

The sweetest thing: One day Leif called me back after I started to go to the second grade. Then he said, "Sherrie, there is only one thing I don't like about this class: you leave too early." :) :)
