We started off the month of October with our always abundant, Harvest Festival.  The whole day the kids (with the help from teachers)  prepare food, set up our long banquet table and create decorations for the celebration.  The 2nd graders made huge accordion flowers to be displayed with the welcome sign the 3rd/4th graders made.  

See the flowers on the fence? Yes, I climbed the dome for this shot!  

The week after was Indigenous People Day. We honored the day by doing a fun oil pastel project with a step-by-step tutorial on drawing a teepee.  The kids used there imagination to finish the scenes with bonfires, stars and nature.

Last week we entered the discussion and review on COLOR! We will be focusing on colors (primary, secondary, complementary, warm, cool) the next few weeks....including Halloween Art tomorrow!  I made a worksheet for the students to fill out with colored pencils so they can have a good reference to use when creating at home.
