Art and Leadership

Greetings from the art room! It’s a wonderful group of first graders and we’re getting used to the class routine and acclimating to the weekly switch between art and leadership. In leadership class we have focused getting to know each other while playing games, like Roll and Tell, as well as enjoyed a few collaborative art projects. We always have a gratitude prompt where the students can write or draw what they are grateful for and have an opportunity to share with the class. We’ve started the school year with lots of art focusing on lines and all the varieties, as well as incorporating an autumn theme. We just begun our study on color and will continue to use Autumn (also Halloween and Dia de los Muertos) as a theme until about Thanksgiving break.
